Tips and Tricks To Surviving the Sluggish Holiday Season in the Fitness Industry

November and December are the months when fitness enthusiasts turn into holiday shoppers and indulgent foodies. As the jingle bells start ringing and the smell of freshly baked cookies fills the air, the health and fitness industry finds itself in a unique predicament. While everyone else is stuffing their faces and decking the halls with boughs of holly, we warriors of wellness are left wondering how to keep our clients motivated amidst the gluttonous festivities. And getting new clients at this time, is a real struggle!

In this blog post, we’ll dive into the struggles we face during the holiday season and share some tips to help you navigate these two dreaded months.

1. FREE Stuff & 6 Week Shred Tricks!

You can always pull out the “Six Week Shred” card, or the “FREE TRAIL” card! I I am a big believer of the “stop giving stuff away for free” campaigns, but damn! November and December, I gladly dull it out during this time

Free stuff, always at least results in building your email list, even the people signing up for free stuff, typically don’t turn into customers that have a high value, but sometimes you get some golden nuggets out of those freebies, but really, it just helps me get through this season and I feel like I’m doing something, to combat the holiday drought.

2. Collaborate & Sale Some Gift Certificates
Collaborate with local businesses to offer all the special holiday fitness packages or gift certificates.

Make Memberships Great Again (MMGA)
Make being a member of your organization the most freaking fun they’ve ever had with you these two months, have parties, Secret Santas. Create community fitness challenges! No one can resist a challenge! Right?  Make those clients that dropped out of your organization to buy Christmas gifts really feel the FOMO as they see their friends posting all the fun they’re missing out on.
